WriteURL
Important message
Writeurl will cease being hosted. Unfortunately, we
have decided to stop hosting Writeurl. The application has always been free to use and
many users have benefited from it. However, development on it stopped several
years ago, and hosting it is a continuous expense for us both financially and
time wise. Unfortunately, we have also had problems with people abusing the
application to host illegal content. All in all it does not make sense for us
to provide free hosting anymore.
The Writeurl code is open source and is available at
Writeurl.
We encourage anyone to self host it.
Write access to the application will be taken away soon. Read
access to existing documents will be maintained until the end of
February 2021.

Text editor
WriteURL is a rich text editor. You can write in all languages. The text can be formatted with bold, italic, underline, fonts, text size, line spacing etc. Links and images can be included.
No registration
WriteURL has no registration and is free to use. WriteURL is the simplest way of creating a new document.
Simple sharing
Sharing is as simple as emailing a URL. Collaborators get the write URL, live readers get the read URL. You can always publish a snapshot of the document as a web page with a publish URL.
Collaborative
Collaborators can work simultaneously. Changes to the document are visible to all writers and readers in real-time.
No files
No emails with file attachments. No confusion about who has the latest version. No need to merge changes into the document.
Offline
You can start new documents and edit existing documents offline. Changes to the document are saved on your device and sent to the server when online again.
Secure
We can include end to end encryption in the next version. Please, give us feedback if you are interested.
History
The entire document history is stored on the server. In a future version you will be able to view the timeline.Demo

Embed a write or read URL on a website
If you want to let people write on a document from within a website, you can easily embed a write URL. A document can also be part of the content of a website by embedding a read URL.
